Dr. Margaret Shaw DDS
Dr. Shaw has been a general dentist for over 22 years. She has extensive experience in all areas of dentistry, with the exception of orthodontics. Her focus is restorative and general dentistry for all age patients, with a particular interest in the difficult root canal and extraction procedures that many general dentists refer to a specialist. She currently practices four days a week in the office she owns, where she employs an excellent staff of four. At the present time she does not have a partner, nor does she employ an associate dentist. Her practice is service oriented, “hands-on,” and reflects her passion for charitable outreach to those in need in her community as well as different corners of the world.
Her personal and professional integrity are her highest priorities.
Since 1997, Dr. Shaw has participated in ten dental mission trips to Nicaragua. On these trips, she had the opportunity to work with two premier oral surgeons, Dr. Robert Lamb (Edmond, OK) and Dr. Rex Witherspoon (Springfield, MO). Under the tutelage of these top surgeons and working under extremely challenging conditions, she has been exposed to techniques that go far beyond the procedural scope of most general dentists. As a result, she has developed valuable skills and has become proficient at difficult extractions.
Her organizational skills extend beyond managing her own private practice. In the late 1990s, at the request of the director of Central Dallas Ministries (now City Place), she set up their dental clinic, which provides low cost dental care to needy families. Her role involved purchasing all equipment, establishing office protocols, and recruiting the initial staff. She also volunteered in this clinic for several years.
She is an active participant in Texas Dentists for Healthy Smiles, a volunteer program of donated dental services for disabled, elderly, and medically-compromised people.
She has numerous hours of continuing education, with an emphasis on oral pathology and oral lesions.
She is dependable, conscientious, and believes she has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Dr. Michael Lunardon
Dr. Lunardon was raised in Lubbock, Texas, and has lived in the DFW Metroplex for over 20 years. He graduated magna cum laude from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor of Science in Zoology in 1998. He then attended Baylor College of Dentistry and graduated in 2002 with his Doctor of Dental Surgery being on the Cumulative Dean’s Honor List. He was elected to the membership of the Baylor Odontological Honor Society based on excellence in academics, leadership, strength of character, attitude, and demonstration of high professional standards.
His love of dentistry began at an early age. After having had a bicycle accident at 13 years old that caused damage to his teeth, he saw the remarkable care giving and transformative aspect of the
profession. He knew he wanted to help people in some way and this opened the door to his passion for
dentistry. If you ask anyone he knows from his public school days through college, they will tell you he has always wanted to be a dentist.
Dr. Lunardon has been practicing dentistry since 2002 and has seen the technological advancements of dentistry and has worked closely with everything from CAD/CAM same day dentistry to lasers. This experience and his attention to detail have helped him provide comprehensive treatment in all aspects of general dentistry.
He is very compassionate and is committed to providing the highest quality dentistry tailored to each of his patients. He volunteers as a career day speaker and has helped revitalize schools in the area for low socioeconomic communities. Dr. Lunardon is married and has twin teen aged sons. In his free time he enjoys spending time with his family, working out, traveling, watching college football, especially his Texas Tech Red Raiders, and loves eating Tex-Mex food.
Dr. Danice Couch
Dr. Danice Nelsen Couch is a native Texan who, as a child, was transplanted to the northeast. After graduating from high school in Pennsylvania, she returned to the lone star state to attend Baylor University as a chemistry major, and three years later was accepted to the Baylor College of Dentistry. Danice graduated in 1984 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and has been in private practice since that time.
Dr. Couch’s passion for a beautiful smile began when she was 8 years old as the result of a traumatic accident which caused her to need extensive dental work. Through this experience she developed a deep, personal appreciation for the dental profession, and decided that she too would become a dentist and help people by restoring their smiles. She has not only accomplished her childhood goal, but has also been able to enjoy a fulfilling career in her state-of-the-art practice which offers CAD/CAM, same day crowns, cosmetic dentistry, implants, laser services and orthodontics, all in a comfortable spa environment.
Over the years Dr. Couch has been active in the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, Texas Dental Association, Dallas County Dental Society and the Academy of G.P. Orthodontics. Danice also serves her community through volunteering for numerous philanthropic organizations and is also involved in Boy Scouts of America, various church organizations and the Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant. Her hobbies include dancing, interior and fashion design, reading, traveling and the theatre. Danice also enjoys spending time with her family and being an involved mother of her three children.
