Elite Mobile Dental is designed to help you or your loved one receive the best personalized dental care without having to leave your home. Since our primary goal is to develop long-lasting, comfortable relationships, we listen to your concerns and take them seriously. We pride ourselves on our excellent customer service. Through state of the art technology, we are able to provide first class dental treatment with care and compassion right in your own residence. We work with you or your caregiver to customize your dental treatment plan. We can also screen for oral cancer at every examination appointment.

DENTAL PROCEDURES

Our unique mobile unit based equipment allows us to perform most common procedures available at a traditional dental office. These include full and partial dentures, extractions, fillings, cleanings, crowns, bridges, root canals and other dental treatment needed. We can also offer cosmetic dental treatments such as teeth whitening. Very seldom, if we come across a procedure with unique circumstances, we can refer the patient to a colleague equipped to provide the necessary care.
During the exam our dentist evaluates your bite and jaw for TMJ problems. These are usually associated with jaw pain, headaches, and snoring. This condition can be addressed with a unique mouthpiece that alleviates this condition. We also examine for periodontal disease, cavities, or other dental conditions using low dose x-rays. This allows our dentist to base line your current dental condition and allows us to lay out a treatment plan that is right for you or your family member that will meet your treatment objectives.

ANTIBIOTIC PREMEDICATION

For decades, the American Heart Association (AHA) recommended that patients with certain heart conditions take antibiotics shortly before dental treatment. The AHA’s latest guidelines were published in its scientific journal, Circulation, in April 2007 and there is good news: the AHA recommends that most of these patients no longer need short-term antibiotics as a preventive measure before their dental treatment.

NOTE: Only a physician or dentist can make the decision to no longer require the premedication and people who have a compromised immune system and heart or joint issues will most likely STILL require premedication. In addition, there are NO recommended changes in the indication for patients with a total joint replacement. At Elite Mobile Dental, we can write an order for the needed medication or conveniently dispense the appropriate antibiotic from medication that we bring along to every appointment

BLEACHING

The desire for a brighter smile with whiter teeth is very strong, and tooth bleaching safely lightens the color of the teeth, lasting for up to five years. The most effective and safest method of tooth bleaching is dentist-supervised. We can take impressions for lab fabricated custom trays or, using our specialized portable operatory, safely apply chairside quick bleach with office level suction and air-water rinsing.

BRIDGE

If you’re missing one or more teeth, you may notice a difference in chewing and speaking. There are options to help restore your smile. Bridges help maintain the shape of your face, as well as alleviating the stress in your bite by replacing missing teeth. Sometimes called a fixed partial denture, a bridge replaces missing teeth with artificial teeth, looks great, and literally bridges the gap where one or more teeth may have been. They are permanently cemented and cannot be misplaced like dentures. With our portable operatory we prepare the teeth using the same high quality handpieces (drill), suction, and air-water spray as that found in a traditional fixed office. Impressions are taken and safely transported to a lab specializing in fabricating this type of restoration.

BRUXISM

Bruxism is the technical term for grinding and clenching of the teeth that may cause facial pain. People who grind and clench their teeth, called bruxers, unintentionally bite down too hard at inappropriate times, such as in their sleep.. About one in three people suffer from bruxism, which can easily be treated by a dentist. After impressions are taken we safely transport them to a lab specially trained to fabricate the mouthguards used for this treatment.

CLEANING (PROPHY)

Many of our patients have not seen a dentist for a long time or have difficulty with their home oral hygiene. Our office provides oral health instruction to the patient and staff to improve the patient’s oral care and oral health. Using our portable operatory with water and high volume suction we are able to clean, rinse, polish, and fluoridate teeth as needed.

COMPOSITES

A composite (white) filling is a tooth-colored plastic and glass mixture used to restore decayed teeth. Composites are also used for cosmetic improvements of the smile by changing the color of the teeth or reshaping disfigured teeth. Utilizing our portable operatory, high-quality composite restorative material, and a portable “curing light”, we are able to provide the same quality restoration as in a fixed-office.

CROWNS

A crown is a restoration that covers, or “caps,” a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, strengthening and improving the appearance of a tooth. Crowns are necessary when a tooth is generally broken down and fillings won’t solve the problem. If a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal the cracks so the damage doesn’t get worse. Crowns are also used to restore a tooth when there isn’t enough of the tooth remaining to provide support for a large filling, attach a bridge, protect weak teeth from fracturing, restore fractured teeth or cover badly shaped or discolored teeth. With our portable operatory we prepare the teeth using the same high quality handpieces (drill), suction, and air-water spray as that found in a traditional fixed office. Impressions are taken and safely transported to a lab specializing in fabricating this type of restoration.

DEBRIDEMENT (DEEP CLEANING)

Many of our patients have not seen a dentist for a long time or have difficulty with their home oral hygiene. Our office provides oral health instruction to the patient and staff to improve the patient’s oral care and oral health. As needed, for someone with heavy build-up and/or deep pockets we can provide a deep cleaning using local or topical anesthetic, water powered cleaning instruments, and specialized scalers for deeper pockets. We also have staff trained in the perio protect specialized treatment system that utilizes mouthtrays and highly specific anti-microbial medication to treat advanced perio conditions.

DENTURES

A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and adjacent tissues. It is made of acrylic resin or vinyl, sometimes in combination with various metals. Complete dentures replace all the teeth, while a partial denture fills in the spaces created by missing teeth and prevents other teeth from changing position. Impressions are taken using the same high quality materials as in a fixed office. We have the option of pouring the impression on-site or transporting it to our lab specializing in dentures. All appointments are done on-site and easily performed by our treating dentist. It typically requires 4-6 visits for a denture to be completed. All follow-up and adjustments are done on-site until the patients is comfortable and satisfied.

DENTURE CLEANING

Dentures can be cleaned on-site using a portable ultrasonic cleaning machine and specialized denture cleaning solution. The solution in water cleans tartar and debris using high powered ultrasonic vibrations.

DENTURE RELINE

DRY MOUTH

Dry mouth (xerostomia) is caused by a decrease in the amount of saliva in the mouth when the salivary glands do not work properly. The salivary glands help keep your mouth moist, which helps prevent tooth decay and other oral health problems.

Prescription and over-the-counter medications are the most common cause of dry mouth. Dry mouth may be a sign of a serious health condition or may occur when a person is upset or experiences stress. It also can be caused by radiation therapy and chemotherapy hormonal alterations or diseases such as AIDS, diabetes or Sjögren’s syndrome. Patients with Alzheimer’s disease or those who suffer a stroke may experience dry mouth. Approximately 30 percent of persons over the age of 65 are affected by dry mouth.

EXAMS

We provide exams as we would in a fixed office using high-powered headlights, mouth mirrors and state of the art portable intraoral cameras to record the oral health and dental needs of our patients. Notes are left with the facility and are keep in our office as a hardcopy record and a computer record to ensure accessibility to our staff and dentists.

EXTRACTIONS

Simple and surgical extractions are performed on-site by our dentists. These are done only after adequate xrays are taken and the dentist has consulted with the patient’s physician, RP (family) and patient for consent. Post-op instructions are provided to the facility, RP and patient as indicated and follow-up exams or services are provided.

GUM DISEASE

Gum disease, or periodontal disease is a chronic inflammation and infection of the gums and surrounding tissue. It is the major cause of about 70 percent of adult tooth loss, affecting three out of four persons at some point in their life. Periodontal diseases include gingivitis and periodontitis.

ORAL CANCER

Oral cancer is one of the most common cancers, with roughly 35,000 new cases reported annually in the United States. The vast majority of oral cancers occur in people older than 50 years, with men being twice as likely as women to develop the disease. The most frequent oral cancer sites are the tongue, the floor of the mouth and soft palate tissues in back of the tongue, lips and gums. If not diagnosed and treated in its early stages, oral cancer can spread, leading to chronic pain, loss of function, irreparable facial and oral disfigurement following surgery and even death. With a thorough visual examination, and appropriate referrals to a specialist, we are able to address this concern.

ROOT CANAL TREATMENT

Underneath your tooth’s outer enamel and within the dentin is an area of soft tissue called the pulp, which carries the tooth’s nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. Root canals are very small, thin divisions that branch off from the top pulp chamber down to the tip of the root. A tooth has at least one but no more than four main root canals. Utilizing our portable operatory and radar gun sized xray machine, we are able to perform simple root canal treatment on-site. If the root canal is too extensive we will refer the patient to a local, highly qualified specialist.

VALPLAST

Valplast partial dentures have no metal clasps and are light weight. The material is translucent, so the patient’s own gums show through, giving a very natural appearance. Another great advantage of Valplast is its resistance to breakage, as it is surprisingly strong relative to its size and weight. No preparation of the teeth is needed (unlike a traditional metal framework partial denture) and impressions are taken using high quality impression material and then transported to our Valplast partial denture lab. All appointments are done on-site including follow-up adjustment appointments until the patient is comfortable and satisfied.

VENEERS

Veneers are ultra-thin shells of ceramic (porcelain) or a composite resin material, which are bonded to the front of teeth. This procedure requires little or no anesthesia and can be the ideal choice for improving the appearance of the front teeth. Veneers are placed to mask discolorations, to brighten teeth and to improve a smile. With our portable operatory we prepare the teeth (if needed) using the same high quality handpieces (drill), suction, and air-water spray as that found in a traditional fixed office. Impressions are taken and safely transported to a lab specializing in fabricating this type of restoration.

XRAYS

Radiographic, or X-ray, examinations provide your dentist with an important tool that shows the condition of your teeth, its roots, jaw placement and the overall composition of your facial bones. X-rays can help your dentist determine the presence or degree of periodontal (gum) disease, abscesses and many abnormal growths, such as cysts and tumors. X-rays also can show the exact location of impacted and unerupted teeth. They can pinpoint the location of cavities and other signs of disease that may not be possible to detect through a visual examination. Our office utilizes the newest, state of the art portable xray machines. These radar gun sized machines use less radiation than a traditional xray machine and produce the same high quality images as those in a fixed office.

SAFETY

Safety is a top priority at Elite Mobile Dental. Infection control is extremely important to us. All of our instruments are disposable or otherwise sterilized. We exceed all government standards including safe water. Our portable dental services system uses a separate self-contained water supply to ensure safe, healthy water.

XRAYS

Our state of the art x-ray procedures use a very low-dose-radiation technology that eliminates potentially hazardous effects often experienced with previous x-ray machines.

We monitor blood pressure before every dental procedure is performed as well as examine current medical records for medications that may cause complications.

HIPAA

As a HIPAA compliant mobile dentistry practice, we value and respect the privacy of you or your loved one’s medical records. Patient records of dental procedures and treatment can be shared with the facility upon request in order to create a comprehensive medical record on file with the facility.
